Screen Recordster v2.3 is a tool used for recording screen activity into standard WMV video files that can be played using Microsoft Media Player or streamed off a web site. If you move the cursor, launch a new program, type some text, click a few buttons, or select some menus -- anything that you see on your screen – Screen Recordster will be able to record and allow you to play them back later on. And that's not all! Record from the microphone as you record the video to have your audio instructions embedded within the video or select "stereo mix", as the record device, and add background audio (speaker output).

You can use Screen Recordster to develop videos to demonstrate features of a new software, for creating movies used in user training, for tracking the progress of a program that executes for a long time, or for recording the sequence of steps that cause the occurrence of bugs in faulty software. Very nice tool for teachers, computer instructors, private tutors, IT professionals, etc.

Introduction: Moving images impact our lives heavily nowadays. A changing image, especially with combined audio, speaks much more than a stationary snapshot. Any one who has watched a movie understands how the power of animation can immensely enhance the process of communication. By capturing the moving action faithfully on your computer screen, Screen Recordster is essentially putting this power right onto your computer desktop.

The video files created by Screen Recordster are saved in the standard WMV (Windows Movie Video) format, which is used pervasively in many Windows applications that support video. This ensures maximum compatibility with other software.

Uses of Screen Recordster:

  • You can create demonstrations of programs by recording the movement of the cursor, the selection of menus, the entering of text or the display of messages. These demonstrations, when shown to users, can illustrate features and usage of the program in a short period time with maximum clarity.
  •  Very nice tool for teachers, computer instructors, private tutors, etc.
  • Record both sides of video conferencing. Anything shown on the screen and sound coming from the speakers. Just set the record device to "Stereo Mix" via the Mixer button.
  • The recorded movies can be added to the accompanying help files of commercial software to make them more professional.
  • The recorded videos can be linked/ posted on your web site to demo software or events.

Take a look at any of our tutorial videos (that were created via this software) - note that the way you play/ view these .wmv files will vary depending on what browser you are using (and how you have it configured). If you are using MS IE - click to play in Media Player (elect NOT to play in Internet Explorer). Foxfire (my personal choice) - select to play in default media player. The VERY BEST way is to "Save Target As" and download to your system then activate by double click or selecting within your media player.
